Six Tea Blends for Springtime
While the weather may not quite agree, Spring is very nearly here! In an effort to brighten up my day (and yours too, I hope), I wanted to share six floral and fruity tea blends from Farmhouse Teas . They were all lovely and any of them would make for a refreshing and bright springtime (or summertime) tea party.
Farmhouse Teas is a family-owned company I’m proud to support, so I hope you’ll love them as much as I do! Their organic loose leaf teas are blended by hand on their farm with local dried fruits and botanicals. If you’d like to learn more about their business, you can click here!
Oregon Harvest Berry
Herbal Tea / No Caffeine
This tea is wonderfully refreshing and fruity, a blend that would make a lovely iced tea. If you’re new to tea and don’t want to try anything earthy, go with this one!
Their description: “Hand blended with the best of Oregon's harvest season! Featuring four local Oregon farms: Apples from Queeners Farm, Aronia Berries from Mt. Hope Farms, and Cornflowers from our very own farm. These wonderful fruits of the harvest are paired with some flavorful spices to bring you a tart but sweet tea that will have you imagining there is blackberry cobbler in your cup!”
Lamplighter Lemonette
Herbal Tea / No Caffeine
This blend is perfect for sipping on in the evening while reading a good book. It’s light and refreshing, but also quite calming!
Their description: “Lamplighter Lemonette is one of our favorite blends for calm, rest & repose. Relax with this lemony herbal tea dotted with Oregon grown pink bachelor buttons and local organic apples. This light but lemony tea is sure to refresh and bring a feeling of peace!”
Farmer’s Wife Raspberry
Herbal Tea / Decaffeinated
While this blend was my least favorite out of all six, I still quite enjoyed it. It’s got a much ‘earthier’ flavor than the other blends, which isn’t my thing but those who like this sort of tea will love this one. The raspberry flavor is very subtle.
Their description: “A tea blend especially for women featuring green rooibos tea with the addition of nettle leaf, red clover blossoms, red raspberry leaf and a dash of the famous elderberry. The Farmer's Wife Tea Blend is a lovely green tea accented with fruity and floral notes and raspberry hint.”
Cottage Peach Rooibos
Herbal Tea / No Caffeine
This tea is such a lovely color! It steeped very quickly and tasted just like I thought it would. The peach flavor pairs well with the tea and other flavors. I think this would also taste quite good iced!
Their description: “Sweet nutty rooibos paired with organically grown and preserved peaches dotted with ginger and calendula. This is a lovely tea with a smooth finishFeatures peaches from Bella Viva Orchards in California, Bella Viva means Beautiful Long Life.”
High Desert Hibiscus
Herbal Tea / No Caffeine
As soon as I opened this bag and smelled the tea leaves, I guessed it would be my favorite and I was right! It’s great for sipping on cloudy days (which we’ve been having often lately) to remind myself that Spring and Summer will come eventually, even if it doesn’t look that way right now.
Their description: “In the heat of the summer, this cooling and refreshing hibiscus tea, quenches one's thirst and brings you to the sandy beaches of your favorite tropical spot. A mini vacation at every sip. Hibiscus tea is a heart loving blend of botanicals that not only tantalizes the taste buds but refreshes and calms. Your tummy and tongue will thank you!”
Farmer’s Market Strawberry
Green Tea / Contains Caffeine
This was the last blend we tried, and the only one that wasn’t decaffeinated. If you need a little caffeine boost, this is your tea! The strawberry flavor isn’t overpowering (which I think would’ve made it too sweet), but just right. Their website also mentions this tea is great for brewing kombucha if that’s your thing!
Their description: “Earthy Sencha Green Tea paired with Oregon Strawberries straight from the local farmer's market! This is the tastiest way to enjoy Oregon strawberries year around. This tea offers light strawberry notes followed by a hint of citrus. Great brewed hot but perfect for summer time iced tea brewing as well.”
Which was my Favorite?
My favorites, ranked!
If you’re new to tea or simply prefer something that doesn’t taste very earthy, the hibiscus or harvest berry are your best options!
