All in Living Like a Hobbit
To see is perilous because it presents you with a choice. Will you find an excuse to return home to your cosy hobbit hole, or will you carry on towards the Slopes of Doom? It is good to be informed, but do not linger here needlessly. Let the things you are reading and hearing and watching online prompt you to action.
If you’re looking for fun ways to make Advent a bit more engaging this year but the thought of a rosy-cheeked elf looming over your kids threatening to tattle to Santa isn’t quite your thing, might I propose an alternative option: Elf on the Shelf, but make it Tolkien. That’s right kids, we’ve got Legolas coming to visit this holiday season!
I’ve spent the majority of my pregnancy seeing my baby’s growth compared to fruits, toys, animals, household objects, etc. — most of which have extremely variable sizes or are altogether unhelpful — and it inspired me to put together a Tolkien-inspired version of my own.

My husband and I are so thankful to be able to share that we are expecting another little hobbit to join our family this October. Please join us in praying that the rest of this pregnancy will continue to be a healthy one. 🌱
Because I love planning and I love a good theme, I’ve put together a list of twelve monthly themes for Tea with Tolkien in 2022. These themes will help shape what sorts of content is shared on our blog and podcast, what discussions we have within our community, and so on!

Last January, I lost someone I love dearly to suicide. Without them, the light in the world is forever diminished. Their life was a gift to all of us and we are lost without them. I miss them so much, and have so many regrets. I wish so badly I could tell them these things. But because they are gone, I am going to tell them to you.
When my wonderful friend Katie invited my husband and I to a charcuterie party at her home this weekend, naturally I knew I had to make something The Lord of the Rings-themed.
